Not judging others by external preconceived notions, he learned early on never to judge a book by its cover, or a person by their title. Always looking for a way to enjoy the best things life has to offer, though that's not to say he's irresponsible, rather, he is simply predisposed to having a good time along the way. This means that for Colt that his self-control isn't exactly something he is known for, but rather his laissez faire attitude.He may not always be sober, but experience as a caravanner and corsair Captain means he is more than able to adjust to the situation if caught flat footed.Good natured, gregarious, and outgoing. These are the fanciful words often used to describe him.. Loud, fun, large and passionate are far more common though.

Tanned, Healthy, ScruffyDistinguishing FeaturesTall by most standards, he gives credence to the statement 'bastard son of a Roegadyn' though at the end of the day he's a full blooded highlander, though his mother is technically a Garlean, hailing from Limsa. With a plethora of tattoos and scars that tell the tale of his past across his flesh, his hair has been described as the mane of a Hrothgar on more than one occasion. In full armor he's quite literally a wall of metal, eschewing normal fashion, or more likely due to simply the life style he lives his hair and facial hair while groomed almost always has an unkempt nature to it. His hulking physique is a cross of a professional soldier, or gladiator, merged with that of a bon vivant. With matching callouses upon his large hands that are unmistakable for what they are, telling the story of a marauder's guild member.
History
Born in the bustling maritime city of Limsa Lominsa, he was destined for a life intertwined with the sea and its mysteries. From an early age, Colton was captivated by tales of pirates and their daring exploits, and his heart yearned for a life of adventure on the high seas.As he grew older, Colton realized that merely dreaming about the pirate life wouldn't suffice. He craved action, so he enlisted in the city's military forces, seeking both discipline and a chance to serve his beloved Limsa Lominsa. With his extraordinary stature and natural strength, he quickly became a valuable asset within the ranks. His proficiency in combat and unwavering loyalty earned him the respect of his comrades and superiors.However, the allure of piracy continued to beckon Colton. The tales of treasure, uncharted islands, and the thrill of the unknown consumed his thoughts, eventually overpowering his sense of duty. The desire for freedom outside the constraints of military life overwhelmed him, and he made the fateful decision to abandon his post and embark on a life of piracy.With his newfound companions, Colton joined a notorious pirate crew known as the Black Tides. Led by the charismatic and cunning Captain Morgan, the Black Tides were feared across the seas for their swift attacks and audacious heists. Colton quickly rose through the ranks, his imposing stature and combat skills earning him the nickname "Colton the Giant" among his fellow pirates.For years, the Black Tides plundered merchant vessels, outsmarted naval forces, and amassed a considerable fortune. Colton reveled in the freedom he had longed for, relishing the thrill of the chase and the camaraderie of his fellow pirates. However, fate has a way of catching up with even the most elusive of rogues.During a daring raid on a heavily guarded cargo ship, Colton and his crew found themselves surrounded by an overwhelming force of Yellow Jackets led by an Arcanist. A fierce battle ensued, but outnumbered and outgunned, the Black Tides were eventually defeated, even seeing the sinking of the Kraken, the Black Tide's flagship. Colton's towering figure became a liability, making him an easy target for the guards. He was captured, along with the remnants of his crew, and imprisoned.Thrown into a dank and grimy cell, Colton's spirit remained unbroken. He refused to allow the circumstances to define him. Instead, he bided his time, meticulously planning his escape and waiting for the opportune moment to reclaim his freedom.Inside the prison walls, Colton's reputation preceded him. Tales of his exploits and his towering presence spread among the inmates, who soon regarded him as a legendary figure. His strength, both physical and mental, inspired those around him, and he became a symbol of resilience and hope in the face of adversity. With each passing day, Colton honed his skills, both as a pirate and as a strategist. He knew that the outside world awaited him, with its boundless seas and untold treasures. And so, he patiently waited for the moment when he could once again feel the salty breeze against his face and embrace the life he had chosen.When the Headsman came to take him to the gallows, Colton Blacke, the seven-foot pirate with a tumultuous past, stood as a testament to the indomitable spirit of adventure. His journey from military service to piracy, capture, and imprisonment had shaped him into a formidable force. A force the Admiralty acknowledged, and gave him the opportunity to earn his freedom with the final days upon them.Pressed into service, Colton was given the chance to earn a full pardon by once more accepting service to the Maelstrom. With his love for life, and the dire need for such peoples, Colton was amongst the first reinforcements sent to the siege of Gridania when the end of days began. And it was there through his honor and action that his pardon was earned.After all was said and done, when the 'End of Days' had passed, Colton along with several survivors left the Forest city-state with a new lease on life, and enough gil to purchase a vessel. Selected as Captain by the other survivors of the Gridania incident they looked towards Colton with pride as they set forth on their new adventure and lives. Taking his place where Captain Morgan had once been for him, he now stood for others. Where once there was the Black Tides and the Kraken, there was now the Sirens and the Aurora.

War veteran, maurader, and corsair anything in this regard is usually a good avenue to catch him.Captain of the Aurora, a five mast two hundred year old Galleon that's seen countless retrofits and repairs to beat back wear and tear, but also to modernize.Highlander 'Half Blood'. For good or ill, its easy to pick out his nationality in a crowd. He's a mountain of a man. Half Garlean.He is the public face of the Golden Sands Trading Company, and considered by most to be the man in charge. He can often be found when on land holding down the couch at the Riptide Taproom, a tavern the crew of the Aurora operates out of between expeditions.Though he can find a reason to be in almost any situation given his nature, just as likely to be found at an apothecary buying potions and elixirs, as he is traipsing through the forest with an axe looking for lumber or even lost.
